To ensure the safety, security, and efficiency of our storage and delivery services, FlyBox has specific policies and guidelines for what can be stored and how items are managed. Here’s an overview of FlyBox’s policies and limitations.
What Can I Store in My FlyBox?
FlyBox is designed to store a wide range of personal and household items, but there are restrictions to ensure safety and compliance:
Prohibited Items Include:
Hazardous Materials: Explosives, flammable substances, toxic chemicals, and any items considered hazardous by law.
Perishable Goods: Food, plants, or other items prone to spoilage.
Illegal Items: Any items prohibited by law, including drugs, contraband, and weapons.
For a detailed list of restricted items, please refer to the Prohibited Items List available on the FlyBox app or website.
Note: FlyBox cannot accept large or extremely fragile items such as furniture, large appliances, or valuable collectibles like fine art or rare jewelry. For such items, please consider using a specialized service.
Storing High-Value or Fragile Items
While FlyBox storage offers durable, lockable FlyBoxes and optional insurance for added security, customers are advised to use caution with high-value or fragile items:
High-Value Items:
FlyBox is not liable for rare or valuable items such as expensive jewelry, artwork, or collectibles. We strongly recommend not storing such items in FlyBox for maximum protection.
Optional Insurance: FlyBox offers coverage up to $100 for in-transit damage via FedEx. For additional protection, consider purchasing personal or third-party insurance.
Fragile Items:
Despite careful handling, there is always a risk of damage during transport or storage.
To minimize risks, please ensure fragile items are well-protected with appropriate packing materials (e.g., bubble wrap, foam padding, etc.).
FlyBox recommends packing delicate items individually and securely to prevent shifting during transit.
Unclaimed or Abandoned Items Policy
FlyBox maintains a clear policy for items that remain unclaimed or in storage without payment:
Nonpayment Timeline:
Items are considered abandoned if no payment has been made for three months (90 days). FlyBox will attempt to contact you multiple times via email, phone, and app notifications before declaring items abandoned.
Notification Process:
Customers will be notified at least three times through different channels (email, phone, and app notifications) before the items are considered abandoned.
Disposition of Abandoned Items:
Abandoned items may be auctioned or disposed of as outlined in FlyBox’s Terms of Service.
Auction Proceeds: Any funds raised from auctioned items will be used to recover unpaid storage fees.
Why Do These Policies Exist?
FlyBox’s policies are designed to:
Ensure Safety:
Restricting hazardous and perishable items prevents risks to our facilities and staff, ensuring a safe environment for all stored items.
Protect Customers:
Guidelines for storing high-value and fragile items help customers make informed decisions regarding the types of items that should be stored and how to protect them.
Maintain Efficiency:
Managing abandoned items ensures that our storage operations remain efficient and accessible for all users, helping maintain space for those who actively need our services
